[newbie] Upgrade to KDE 1.1

Hey people im trying to install KDE 1.1 from the RPM's off the KDE website

i keep failing i finially did it after deleting some conflicting packages

but now my menu's are almost empty!

how do i upgrade to V.1.1 keeping all my libs and such and also install the 8
meg applications RPM with the new RPMS without loosing my menu's and stuff

and without getting those nasty conflicts?
