make you a win 98 boot disk
next at the dos prompt type fdisk /mbr
this will clear your master boot record and you can try it again.
hope this helps,
Ralph

Subject: [newbie] I think i made a boo boo

I boot to Linux off of a floppy. if no floppy, boots to win98.

upgraded to 2.2.0
ran zlilo on to a nice fresh floppy and also made a zImage on the
hard disc.

when I boot to the floppy the screen reads:
loading....
0400
AX:0209
BX:5000
CX:0201
DX:0100.

Then repeats
0400
AX:0209
BX:5000

ad infinitum.

When i try to boot off the original boot floppy (or its back-up)
the screen reads:
LIL-

and then stops.

have i completely buggered the install of the new kernel? any
chance of loading Linux?

tia, all
