G'day Jorgy,
Ok I think, I can help here as I had the same problem.
cd /lib/modules
rm preferred
ln -s 2.2.3-1 preferred
cd /lib/modules/preferred
cp /lib/modules/2.0.36-3/modules.dep modules.dep
the last step should have coppied your old modules dep to the new modeules dir.
REBOOT
Let me know how you went :-))
