[newbie] ESS1869 soundcard

Can anybody help me setting up my ESS1869 soundcard.
When doing a sndconfig all goes well except for the last part, checking if
sound is actually working.
It gives me an error back with the message that device is busy?? I wonder how
come, since I cannot hear anything and I have not even setup this card yet !!

Any suggestions???
