I have a second partition on my primary drive. If I remember correctly when
I had 5.3 I just created a directory in /mnt and added a line to the
/etc/fstab.

So when I installed 6.0 I created a directory called hda2 and added the line
to fstab
/dev/hda1 /mnt/hda2 ext2 defaults 1 1 (even tried 0 0 )

When I do this I get an error message on boot that asked my if I want to
control D for normal boot (which won't work) or enter root password for
maintenance. I do this and edit the fstab line I added and reboot. It works
OK.

I used fdisk -L to verify the partition is in fact hda2.

Has mandrake 6.0 changed something that causes the automount to work
different ?

Thanks,

Rich
