Well first of all there are quite a few BIOS's out there not to mention all the
different variations on each of them. Who would reright them all? And what 
about all those machines without a flash bios EPROM? Tis much easier to
just use a simple work around like using a /boot partition. At least it is in my
humble newbie opinion.
