I don't recall off the top of my head what make hard disk i have, but being
a laptop, it's pretty difficult for me to change anything.

I would like to mess with the DMA/PIO settings in the bios (i have the
latest one from Dell), but again, being a laptop, the bios doesn't let me -
or is this inherent of Dell.

Any other ideas ?

Martin.
