I have an S3 Virge / GX PCI video card. Whenever I go into GUI mode and then exit back to console mode, to get a useable screen I have to reboot. Switching to another virtual console doesn't help. The text doesn't get cleared away, and it's oversized as well. This makes it nearly impossible to view the current text. Also, Mandrake doesn't seem to like the SMP Pentium Pro. My tech says that the SMP kernel doesn't work well with my hard drive (an old Seagate / Conner 850 MB IDE) Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
