Hi I have a very strange problem with my Notebook. It's a non-brand name notebook with P-233, SiS-550X chipset and Trident 9385 Video chip, TEAD-220E CD-ROM drive. I was able to install Mandrake 7.2 just fine. I had problem to installing Mandrake 8.0/8.1/8.2. They would just die and screen gone blank. I used text mode installation, it always had problems of reading some packages and failed. With Mandrake 8.2, I was able to install in text mode but I always lost keyboard after 2-3 minutes. I wonder if anyone has similar problem with this chipset or any suggestion. Thanks.
