Given that you're connecting to a Win2K share, this sounds like ye olde 'problem' that shares formatted with NTFS can only be read and not written to from Linux; this is because Microsoft's file system formats are undocumented and closed source (so writing, given that reverse engineering has to be employed to decode the formats, is perilous) ...
