Title: RE: [newbie] Reboot by phone

On the contrary.

If I can determine (or more to the point -- if my BigBrother installation can determine) that a server is hung and a reboot will be necessary (I still have to work with M$ boxes), then a simple call (which BB can automate) would reboot the server.

This is especially nice when I'm at home in bed, and my BB monitor in the office in Connecticut figures out that a server in Illinois needs rebooting -- all I get is a page telling me that it's been done, and I turn over and go back to sleep.

That's just a remote phone switch...  Definitely a last resort...
