Hi, Just learnt how to use normalize, but am still confused about the normal and -mix mode. Let's say I have three files with the RMS volume of 3, 5 and 7 (1 being quietest, 10 being loudest). As far as I understand, normalize without switches raises the RMS volume of all the files to 10. Normalize in the mix mode should calculate the average RMS volume (5 in this case) and put all files' RMS volume to this level. However, today -mix gave me a higher volume on the output file than normalize without switches. How come?
