Here is a copy of the Pointer Section of my Toshiba 2805-s201
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4:

# **********************************************************************
# Pointer section
# **********************************************************************

Section "InputDevice"

    Identifier "Mouse1"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
    Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
    Option "Buttons" "5"
    Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

# ChordMiddle is an option for some 3-button Logitech mice

# Option "ChordMiddle"

EndSection

My laptop (as above) has 4 buttons, the main (left click), below that is
the secondary (right click) and another two for scrolling.
The above XF86Config-4 gives me 3 button emulation (pressing main and
secondary together) and scrolling.

Hope this helps.

Nigel Ridley.
