I can't tell you how to force LM to set the card into full-duplex, but I can tell you that normally, a NIC's autodetect works pretty well. The card should try to negotiate the best signalling speed and duplex level that it can. If it did not autodetect full duplex, then it is highly likely that your hub/switch does not support that communication mode.
