Now that Mandrake's all installed and running nicely, my next question is how can I configure XFree or XWhatever to run in a certain video mode for my TV out on the video card?
Specs: NVidia GeForce 256 (Yes, I was having problems with the new drivers as well, so I kept XFree86-config-4 the way it was) What I find odd is that the video out displays the command line prompt beautifully. (I can boot up into the command line, as X crashes when I start up.) I would think that: a) Updating the NVidia drivers might help. (I attempted this, as I said above, and my XFree config got all FUBARed up and I had to restore the backup file to get X to start back up) b) Configuring the XFree86 config files to handle the output. (It has to be either 640x480 or 800x600. I'm looking for the exact spec on that, to no avail) Not knowing how to adequately update the XFree config, I haven't tried that completely. The escapade with NVidia last night made me think twice about pushing it any farther. Thanks. Kris "What utter dangerous rubbish.
