I have the same problem using 8.2. I asked a similar question a few weeks back and the consensus seems to be a motherboard issue. I am using the Tyan S1598 Trinity MB. Fortunately mine will reboot. So I reboot into Win98 and shutdown that way. M9.0 will not load.
