Obviously, there is a program (or two or three) that is bombing out -
you can safely remove the core.XXXX files without worry - but you might
want to modify your .bashrc file to have:

# No core files by default
ulimit -S -c 0 > /dev/null 2>&1

...in it...then you won't get those nasty little buggers...
