[newbie] Login Help

I was changing the video setting in Mandrake Control Center on a 9.0 system. All  I changed the video card, tested it, then logged out of KDE.    Now I cannot login to the system unless I am root.  None of the users can log into it.   Any ideas as to what would cause this?    Thanks,      Tom
