[newbie] Xsane Not Seeing My HP Scanjet 3500c Scanner

I'm using LM9.0 and KDE. I'm trying to get Mandrake to see my HP Scanjet 3500c scanner. Xsane says "No Device Was Available". But USBview sees the scanner. Is there something else that I need to do?
