Nope, didn't help. Half the time Kmail crashes with a segfault after I try to 
delete a list of highlighted mail. Says the one about the app tried to save 
or something. Anyway, I didn't have this problem before the update so it must 
be because of the update. Ha, logical fallacy potential there. Any other help 
is appreciated. I am holding off reinstall of the 9.0 KDE for now.
