I put this problem here again. Using avifile with Mandrake 9.0, I only get sound but no video. I have a NVIDIA TNT2 card and drivers from NVIDIA (the are automatically installed during installation). The error message points at a failure to initialize the decoder. It is looking for "dvsd" and obviously can't find that. It happens both with Mandrakes RPM version as and the tarball that was processed using configure;make;make install. I may have forgotten to install another package but in the past I many times succesfully installed avifile on several SuSE versions, Caldera and Red Hat.
The win32 codecs are all in /usr/lib/win32. Mplayer and kino work fine.
