I have been investigating the Gnome desktop, and have been trying to get the Modem Lights applet working to use it for dial-up. I can't get it to work. When I click on it, nothing happens.
It gives "pppon" (without the speech marks) as the connect command. I assume that "pppon" is a script, but it doesn't appear to installed anywhere. Trying to run "pppon" from a command line doesn't work either. How do I get Modem Lights to work, please? I can't find a help file for it anywhere. Many thanks Keith
