[newbie] Creating a GDM greeter theme

I was thinking of trying my hand at creating a GDM greeter theme. Anyone out there know of any websites that have some sort of HOW-TO on how to do this? Even a google search doesn't reveal anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks compadres!
