I have not checked shorewall on mine, but using dhcp did not work (I turned off acpi as well Greg) had to move to static ip address again. Will check shorewall tonight and change back to dhcp. I also as a precaution installed all programs which had something to do with dhcp even the server just to be on the safe side.

Make sure you give a lot of info about this, including the order in which you ran the draktools, meaning, did you run ICS before shorewall or shorewall beofre ICS, along with exacly what connection you set to allow.
