Hi,
I am a newbie to Linux. I have Mandrake 9.0 on a Compaq ML310 server with 512 MB memory, 2.0 Ghz P4 processor. The server has an integrated NC7760 PCI Gigabit network adapter which gets detected alright. I proceed to assign an IP address, subnet mask and other TCP/IP network parameters to it. Sever does not complain but the network does not come up. ie, ping to the local ethernet produces no reply. Could I be missing something?. Anyone with this experience?
