Okay, I'm not the brightest lightbulb in the pack, but I thought I knew the difference between an install and an upgrade.
I attempted to upgrade 8.2 to 9.1rc3 (I know, everyone said don't do it) but that's just me. Then I booted and stalled on kernel panic. Since I had no idea what to do next I rebooted on the CD and chose install, thinking I could look forward to a couple of months of rebuilding all of my 'stuff'. When I rebooted, everything I had done over the past 2 years was there, but better. I am totally amazed. Question is, "What did I do right"? Why was I not stuck putting mail addresses and everything else back together again? Lee -- Registered Linux user #223705 Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
