There may be an issue with your system path statements. Add the following to your /etc/profile: KDEDIR='/usr' export KDEDIR Also, edit the /etc/ld.so.conf and add: /usr/lib /usr/local/lib Save the file, and run "ldconfig" to rebuild the lib path cache.
