Just open an xterm, and run it - that way you can watch it's progress and if it's reporting an error. Make sure you've created a viable and suitable .webcamrc to sit in your ~/home/yournamegoeshere directory. This is what mine looks like for example: [grab] device = /dev/video0 text = "KuhnKam %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S" fg_red = 255 fg_green = 255 fg_blue = 255 width = 320 height = 240 delay = 60 wait = 0 input = camera norm = pal rotate = 0 top = 0 left = 0 bottom = -1 right = -1 quality = 75 trigger = 0 once = 0 [ftp] host = www user = webcam pass = xxxxxx dir = /var/www/html/kma file = webcam.jpg tmp = uploading.jpg passive = 1 debug = 0 auto = 0 local = 1 ssh = 0 -- Wed Jun 11 08:45:00 EST 2003 08:45:00 up 3 days, 18:36, 3 users, load average: 0.18, 0.40, 0.26 ----------------------------------------------------------------- | __ __ |kuhn media australia | | /-oo /| |'-. |http://kma.0catch.com | | .\__/ || | | |================================| | _ / `._ \|_|_.-' |stephen kuhn | | | / \__.`=._) (_ | email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | ----------------------------------------------------------------- linux user #:267497 linux machine #:194239 * MDK 9.1 & RH 7.3 Mandrake Linux Kernel 2.4.21-11mdk Cooker for i586 ----------------------------------------------------------------- * This message was composed on a 100% Microsoft free computer * Man's unique agony as a species consists in his perpetual conflict between the desire to stand out and the need to blend in. -- Sydney J.
