i suspect checkinstall may be what you're looking for
although having not used it personally,
i can only point you to it and hope it helps
    http://asic-linux.com.mx/~izto/checkinstall/

also, if you've added your contrib sources properly,
    # urpmi checkinstall
should get your the rpm for your version of mandrake.
