Can't help with the configure problems, but I did find some ready made packages that work on my 9.1 install: http://yann.hodique.free.fr/kdevelop/Mandrake/9.1/RPMS/ Only the libs-devel package clashes with my existing kdev install, but you don't need it. Actually compiling any projects within gideon requires the latest automake/autoconf to be installed in parallel with the old ones required by the current kdev, but these aren't a prequsite on the RPM's.
