In Realplayer 8 go to View - Preferences - Proxy - HTTP Options

Then select "Manually configure HTTP proxy". Put in the IP address of
your gateway, whatever that is. It of course must be a local IP address
and not a public ip address if you are on a local lan, which I assume
you are (where one machine connects to the internet and the other
machines use that one machine as a gateway.)

In the port field, I believe you should try 8080.

To be super safe, and to maximize your likelyhood of getting realplayer
8 to work, you want to also go to "Transport" tab and select "Use
specified transport".

Under RTSP Settings, select "Use HTTP only." Do the same thing for "PNA
Settings".

Nearly all firewalls, no matter how weird they are, allow NAT with HTTP
protocols. HTTP is usually a given, so this should be your safest
route. If you can't get a signal thru the wall with RP8 configured like
this then there is something seriously wrong.
