I have all these settings OK. Now I have seen starting xawtv or mplayer in the beginning gives good normal video. However if I start xine and then go to xawtv or mplayer, video is as bad as it was in xine. Any settings to be changed in xine. running mplayer I get some trial and error in vcodec decoder as given below. ===================== Opening video decoder: [mpegpes] MPEG 1/2 Video passthrough VDec: vo config request - 720 x 480 (preferred csp: Mpeg PES) Could not find matching colorspace - retrying with -vop scale... Opening video filter: [scale] The selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec. VDecoder init failed :( Opening video decoder: [libmpeg2] MPEG 1/2 Video decoder v2.0 libmpeg2: Using MMXEXT for IDCT transform libmpeg2: Using MMXEXT for motion compensation VDec: vo config request - 720 x 480 (preferred csp: Planar YV12) VDec: using Planar YV12 as output csp (no 0) Movie-Aspect is 1.33:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect. VO: [xv] 720x480 => 720x540 Planar YV12 [fs] Selected video codec: [mpeg12] vfm:libmpeg2 (MPEG 1 or 2 (libmpeg2)) =============================== But this is same either I directly run mplayer or after xine. But running xine and then running mplayer even in command line doesn't produce any idea what wrong is happening after running xine. Further in mplayer I don't get menu of DVD as in xine. What to do to get menu in mplayer? -- L.V.Gandhi 203, Soundaryalahari Apartments, Lawsons Bay colony, Visakhapatnam, 530017 MECON, 5th Floor, RTC Complex, Visakhapatnam AP 530020 INDIA
