The updates will give you konsole if you choose to add it. In a terminal started by the methods below switch to super user and type: urpmi konsole <enter> KDE is split up so much now that you may want to go through the installable packages list (drakconf, or mcc[Mandrake Control Center] in a terminal or "Configure your computer in the menu list) in order to find what you want. If you just want to use (as user) a terminal just hold the Alt button, click F2 and type rxvt (installed by default since the Mandrake Control Center uses it) or konsole (you'll have to add it first of course), and hit enter. There's a terminal for you. If you want a superuser terminal after you install the rest of "what's missing" follow the same steps except type konsolesu instead. What else is missing depends on what you had before. <g> HTH Charlie - -- Edmonton,AB,Canada User 244963 at http://counter.li.org Cooker on kernel 2.4.22-7mdk 16:37:39 up 16:33, 1 user, load average: 1.60, 0.56, 0.33 When taxes are due, Americans tend to feel quite bled-white and blue. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/X6n+G11CaRuZZSIRAkqoAJsGv90YjdOmMrfDOdD1oXRMZ2U0hQCdEARB z3fqIjRtjTjgYAjgGj9omAs= =CSrW -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
