The updates will give you konsole if you choose to add it. In a terminal 
started by the methods below switch to super user and type:

urpmi konsole <enter>

KDE is split up so much now that you may want to go through the 
installable packages list (drakconf, or mcc[Mandrake Control Center] in 
a terminal or "Configure your computer in the menu list) in order to 
find what you want.

If you just want to use (as user) a terminal just hold the Alt button, 
click F2 and type rxvt (installed by default since the Mandrake Control 
Center uses it) or konsole (you'll have to add it first of course), and 
hit enter. There's a terminal for you. If you want a superuser terminal 
after you install the rest of "what's missing" follow the same steps 
except type konsolesu instead.

What else is missing depends on what you had before. <g>
