Yes. If you boot from the Install Cd#1 and at the first screen hit the button 'For more options' then type 'rescue' at the prompt. It will boot in a minimal linux and give you a menu. One option is to mount the partitions. You could then try repairing them. Another alternative is to get hold of a knoppix CD and boot from that.
