Mandrake Cooker is the development strand of Mandrake. At Mandrake all development is conducted in the open. Cooker is where the developers are currently building Mandrake 10.0 Unless you are an experienced Linux user, then it is best to leave Cooker alone. It is especially not recommended to mix packages from Cooker with the current stable release unless you know what you are doing. Urpmi is Mandrakes package manager. Ut builds upon RedHats rpm by managing online software sources, and automatically resolving dependencies. It is quite similar to apt-get in the Debian world. You can read about urpmi here http://mandrake.vmlinuz.ca/bin/view/Main/UsingUrpmi derek -- ---------------------------------- www.jennings.homelinux.net http://twiki.mdklinuxfaq.org
