   Thanks for the info!      I've ordered a book on Linux 6.0 from Amazon.com 
-- until that arrives I'm stuck with the small booklets that came with Linux 
6.5 - Mandrake.  The book did mention "usr/sbin/mouseconfiq." -- but don't 
remember, fer sure, what I used for my 'adminstrator' password.  The video 
keyboard manual video mode settings you mentioned ought to give me a better 
chance to navigate until I figure out how to re-configure the mouse.  (Serial 
port type -- two button) Not even sure which port it's on, didn't record 
enough of my system settings before I nuked Windows 98.

  But, live and learn as they say -- will muddle onward...<g>
