A good start is to install the drakwizard RPM and then restart Mandrake Control Centre. You will see a new 'Server' section containing wizards to set it all up for you. (Do *not* use the Timeserver wizard. A bug in it will screw up your Timezone) Once Apache is installed you will be able to access any web pages put in /var/www/html You have a choice of using Apache 1.3 or 2.0 either works fine. To enable PHP install apache2-mod_php and php.ini, restart Apache then any PHP pages will be displayed. To enable mySQL install MySQL and MySQL-client If you install phpMyAdmin (in Contrib) then it will install a php application which you can reach through http:your_host_addy/phpMyAdmin-2.5.0/index.php phpmyadmin will display the structure of your mysql databases. For each of these apps look at the documentation you will find in /usr/share/doc It will describe how to set up an SQL database etc HTH derek -- ---------------------------------- www.jennings.homelinux.net http://twiki.mdklinuxfaq.org
