Todd; Have you considered running some Cat5 cable on the outside of your house by mounting it into some PVC pipe? This will probably be easier to maintain than wireless would, not to mention cheaper. I haven't heard too many success stories about wireless on the list. If you can get a DLink wireless card to work on Linux, though, please let us know.
I've been doing some wireless setups lately, and I find them to be a real pain. Interference from neighbors running wireless, or cordless phones on the same frequency, etc., so I'm very interested if you find a solution that works. Good luck!
