It seems that I need to override some sort of DSDT to boot an updated kernel(so I can use ACPI). I have found a patch that is supposed to do this for me, but I have no clue how to apply it. The patch is gunzipped and has and .asl extension. I tried gunzip -c <path> | patch -p1 but I got some syntax error. Help would be nice.
