Hold down ALT and CTRL and hit backspace. Then type init 3

Then xf86config

Or just type mcc and use Mandrake Control Center.

Thanks for the response!  When I type Ctrl Alt Bksp it takes me to the
system prompt, then immediately launches KDE again??
