RPMS is the main rpm repository for the distribution. This is where all the official, initially released packages are. RPMS2 is a symbolic link to 'contrib' and RPMS3 is a symbolic link to 'jpackage'. They are far from essential. If you have installed them separately or don't want them then it's safe to ignore them. If you're using plf you probably do want contrib, tho. A.
