Yes, it does start another subshell, but it has the other, desired affect as 
well - it reflects the update to .bashrc. When you kill the current shell the 
subshell is killed as well. Is there a disadvantage or problem with the 
subshell? Just curious - if its harmful I'll go with your answer "source 
.bashrc". Thanks!
