[newbie] BLAS.a or BLAS-OPT.a

One of the programs I'm trying to TGZ.Compile [hehe :)] is asking for
someothing called BLAS.o or BLAS-OPT.a and it says its in RedHat, but I
use Mandrake, any chance its ther also? I can't find it.
