Have you tried putting the following in: >add the following lines at the end of /etc/rc.d/rc.local >/sbin/modprobe parport >/sbin/modprobe parport_pc >/sbin/modprobe lp I rebooted after that though there may be a simpler method to get things rolling. Did you also go ahead and install the update lpr rpm? (It worked for some not for others) There sure have been a lot of bizzare printer config problems with Linux-Mandrake 6.1 if that is the version you're using. Good luck! WH Bouterse
