If you need to share data between windows and linux, create a partition
formated as fat32 by the Mandrake install (choose 'expert' when you get to
the partitioning - create the ones you know you need like this one and /home,
which will hold all your personal config files and any data you don't direct
to the shared one, and then leave the install to take care of the rest
under /)

No. You can configure samba any way you want, after the install. Just
install both server and client if you need a 2-way system.

time on the second drive? Yes, you can copy your mail across, but copy the
contents of the mail folder, rather than the folder itself.

It's always a good idea to back up your data, of course, but then I'm
paranoid ;-) The main thing seems to be to keep windows from hogging the
whole drive - which can be rectified, but causes more work. Good luck.
