Putting it on the first sector is useful if you are adding this as a second or third or whatever system and want to use an existing boot manager in the MBR, adding the new one manually. Mostly the MBR is the easiest choice - certainly for the scenario where you have an existing doze system and are setting up the standard dual boot scenario. HTH Brian
