Hi guys, thanks for the responses. I checked in /usr/src/linux before I wrote to the list and there were no symlinks and there were no /usr/src/name_of_kernel-source.mdk either.
I went back to my install of 10.0 and verified that it should be there so I am assuming that even though I selected to install kernel sources, it didn't.
