You could try to reconfigure your xserver, may have lost a link. [root]# xf86config (if your useing XFree) [root]# xorgconfig (if your useing Xorg) Also there is a drake tool [root]# XFdrake I did notice on mine mdk10.0 with Xorg the link is /etc/X11/X with a capital X your error shows /etc/X11/x You could look at your /etc/X11/ directory and see where the link is pointing mine looks like this X -> ../../usr/X11R6/bin/Xorg* Mike
