Yes the small ones are for the jumpers if any, which are almost always
described on the drive itself, the larger pins is the power, usually with
topside corners edged off and those of the power as well, in order not to be
able to insert the power cable the wrong way.

If you browse the IBM site you'll find very extensive information on all
principles of HD technology.
