Agreed - it would be really nice. Even better would be one that allowed the distro information to be included, so that it could become more widely useful. True. Still, for those considering the change, or for buying new hardware, it would be extremely helpful. The problem is finding someone with the skills to do it and sufficient time. It must be possible to collect info from either kcontrol or harddrake and put it into a form, but there would have to be a central database, hosted by who? And of course the interface to upload the data. I wish I had the skills to try it, though.
